What You’re Getting

A standard vortex meter has one bluff body and one sensor — lose the sensor, lose the measurement. The 8800DD puts a second, fully independent sensor on the opposite side of the same bluff body. Each sensor has its own electronics and outputs its own 4-20mA signal. The two measurements can be compared in the DCS for deviation alarms, or one can serve as a hot standby. The bluff body is a single machined piece of stainless steel — no ports, no gaskets, no potential leak paths. Unlike orifice plates, vortex meters have no impulse lines to plug and measure volumetric flow directly. The dual-sensor design supports SIL 2 and SIL 3 safety loops when used with a logic solver. Suitable for steam, gas, and liquid flow measurement in custody transfer, safety shutdown, and critical process control.
